Witnessing the shocking incident of a spa manager assaulting a woman went viral, leading to the manager’s arrest.

A horrific incident in Ahmedabad on September 25 sent shockwaves across the city as Mohsin, a spa manager, found himself at the center of public outcry following a violent attack on a women. The victim was brutally pulled by her hair, slapped, and kicked by the manager in an offensive incident that was filmed and spread quickly on many social media platforms.

After Bodakdev police filed an FIR, the accused spa manager was arrested on Thursday. The defendant, Mohsin, the spa owner, faces charges of assaulting the woman, allegedly stemming from a seemingly trivial argument. The incident was captured by the spa’s CCTV cameras, sparking widespread discussion and outrage after video of the assault attracted attention on social media. The victim, originally from Northeast India, had moved to Ahmedabad for work.

Complaints are filed after consultation
Galaxy Spa, located in the Times Square building on Sindhubhavan Road, Ahmedabad, is where the horrific incident occurred. In the viral video, Mohsin can be seen forcing the woman’s hair in public before launching a physical attack on her.

In response to this horrific incident, the Ahmedabad police came to know about it suo-motu and started an investigation. After counseling sessions, the victim decided to file a formal complaint against Mohsin at Bodakdev police station. Although hesitant at first, she eventually agreed to take this step thanks to the advice and support she received. Based on the allegations stated in his complaint, Bodakdev police officially registered an FIR against Mohsin, the spa owner, citing sections 354(A), 294(b) and 323 of the Penal Code Indian Affairs (IPC).
Excuses and dissuasion
According to the victim, she and Mohsin opened a beauty salon for women together. The conflict arose when she made comments to a young woman working at the salon to deal with a loss of business. This argument led to Mohsin confronting her, leading to a heated argument that eventually escalated into an assault that was captured on video. The victim initially attempted to call the police (by dialing 100) to report the incident, but was interrupted by Mohsin, who later apologised. Only after the video attracted widespread attention and the police contacted her directly did she have the courage to come forward and officially file a complaint.
