“I don't even regret cow dung”:Prime Minister Modi accused the ruling Congress of corruption in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Assembly Election:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accused the Congress of not letting the Centre’s development efforts reach the people of the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday criticized the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government in election-bound Chhattisgarh, accusing it of blocking the Centre’s development projects for the state.

“I assure you that your dream is my determination… Your dream will come true only when the BJP government is here. No matter how hard we tried from Delhi, the Congress failed. In the last five years, Chhattisgarh has earned thousands of rupees here. Road, railway, power and many other development projects, we have not earmarked money for the state,” Mr. Modi told party members at the ‘Parivartan Maha Sankalp’ rally in Bilaspur state, in connection with the vote.

The Prime Minister accused the Congress government of corruption. “Congress has committed corruption in the alcohol sector; not even sparing cow dung. The Congress government in Chhattisgarh was also guilty of corruption in the distribution of ration under Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana,” he said.

During the protest, the Prime Minister cited Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo’s remarks in which he asserted that the Center does not show any bias against the Congress-ruled state in matters development work topic.

“The Deputy CM said this is a public gathering… In public life, reality cannot be hidden. If the Deputy Prime Minister had said that Delhi had not done anything unjust, it would have been a good thing for everyone, but the Congress has been through a whirlwind. The Indian government has approved infrastructure projects in Chhattisgarh worth thousands of millions of dollars. They are interrupted or delayed,” Mr. Modi added.

“No matter how hard I try to achieve (development) from Delhi, the Congress government here (in Chhattisgarh) always ensures that this does not happen to you,” he said.

“The change has been completed in Chhattisgarh. The enthusiasm seen here is a statement of change. The people of Chhattisgarh have decided not to tolerate the Congress’s atrocities anymore,” Prime Minister Modi said, while intensifying his attack on the Congress government in the state.

Chhattisgarh along with Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Mizoram will go to polls later this year. The Congress won the 2018 elections, defeating the ruling BJP in the state.

“Thagesh sarkaar” of Chhattisgarh Congress deprived lakhs of farmers of ₹6,000, which was provided under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana,” he added.

“Prime Minister Modi has a remote control, he secretly presses it”

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi, during his visit to the poll-bound state, hurled ‘remote control’ abuse at Prime Minister Narendra Modi while announcing the government’s Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana National Assembly government.

“We pressed the button on the outdoor remote control. But the BJP secretly insisted and Adaniji got the Mumbai airport – the public sector became the private sector,” he said in Bilaspur.

“And when I asked Prime Minister Modi about Adani in Lok Sabha, I got the answer, my Lok Sabha membership has been cancelled,” Gandhi added. Chhattisgarh is currently ruled by the Congress led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. The state along with Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Mizoram will hold elections later this year.
