After complaints that the new phone was hot, Apple said the device seemed warmer in the first few days “after setting up or restoring the device due to increased background activity”.
“Another issue is that some recent third-party app updates are causing system overload,” Apple said, adding that it is working with app developers on the issue. Fixes are currently being rolled out.
Third-party applications that cause problems include Asphalt 9 game; Meta’s Instagram; and Uber, according to the company. Instagram fixed the problem with its app in September. 27.

The upcoming iOS 17 fix will not reduce performance in response to iPhone temperature.

The Cupertino, California-based company says the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max do not overheat due to their design, but instead the new titanium case dissipates heat better than previous stainless steel models.

Apple also said the issue does not pose a safety risk or injury and will not affect the phone’s long-term performance.
