Bangalore Metro’s Purple Line opens for local residents. Know the time, internal fare.

Bengaluru: On October 9, the Purple Line of the Bengaluru Metro, also known as the Whitefield-Charragatta Metro Corridor, was opened to the public. This stretch includes 2.1 km between Byyappanahalli and KR Pura and 2.05 km between Kengeri and Charragatta, which are part of the 42.85 km Purple Line, which runs east-west from Whitefield to Charragatta.
Commuters have been waiting for these metro services for a long time and the demand has been met as a result of numerous online campaigns.

Duration:
Service begins at 5am at all termini. The last train from Whitefield (Kadugodi) departs at 10:45 PM and the last train from other terminal stations departs at 11:05 PM.
Travel time and frequency:
Traveling from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Challaghatta involves 37 metro stations and takes approximately 82 minutes. Morning rush hour operating distances vary between the east and west corridors, with the shortest distance being 3 minutes between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station – Majestic Station and MG Road. Trains run every 8 to 10 minutes during off-peak hours, and every 15 minutes in the early morning.
Fare: According to media reports, the Metro fare from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Challaghatta is around ₹57 to ₹60.
Bangalore Metro Railway Corporation has expanded its operational network from 69.66 km to 73.81 km and now includes 66 metro stations.
