Samsung says Galaxy AI is available for previous flagships, but S22 owners have not been notified..

A number of AI-powered features were unveiled by Samsung with their Galaxy S24 series, promising an improved user experience. There is good news for owners of earlier flagship phones, even though these functions are currently exclusive to the new models.

Samsung’s Head of Customer Experience, Patrick Chomet, stated in a TechRadar interview that a few 2023 flagship devices will get the new Galaxy AI features.
The Galaxy S23, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9 are among the gadgets on the list. In the first half of 2024, they will gain the new AI features with the One UI 6.1 update.

Although they are eligible for the One UI 6.1 update, the company’s 2022 devices, which include the Galaxy S22 series, are an unexpected exception. Samsung did not disclose the reasons for this exclusion. However, when Chome was asked, he simply replied at the moment were limiting first distribution for last generation devices.Owners of S22 devices are currently in an uncertain situation as they do not know when they will be able to fully use their devices.

The fact that the Galaxy S23 FE, which is part of the launch and has the same chipset as the S22 in some regions, is another contributing factor to the confusion. While Galaxy AI might be available to S22 owners, Samsung hasn’t given a specific release date or guarantee.
