He said that on August 7, he moved an amendment under the relevant rules to refer the Government on the National Capital Territory Amendment Bill 2023 to a 19-member select committee, in including honorary members Narhari Amin, S Phangnon Konyak, Sasmit Patra, M Thambidurai and Sudhanshu Trivedi. Responding to his suspension, Chadha said: “My suspension is a strong message from the BJP to the youth of today: If you dare to ask questions, we will crush your voice. I was suspended for asking difficult questions that left the BJP, the world's largest party, unanswered during my speech in Parliament on the Delhi Services Bill." “My crime is to expose the double standards of the BJP regarding Delhi's statehood and ask them to follow 'Advani-vaad' and 'Vajpayee-vad'.
